I’m grateful that I have clothes to wear

Me and my sweet high school bestie, Tracy Burger
Nice vest! It looks like someone made it out of living room curtains! Me and one of my sweet high school besties, Tracy Burger (aka Burgs).

1.5.17   Isn’t this pic just delightful?  Haha!  I’m pretty sure the year is 1990.  I was definitely in my senior year of college and lived at the beach house in Narragansett with 4 of my sorority sisters.  At the time I collected anything with pink cars-I always said that my dream was to have a pink Cadillac.  I believe my mom sent me this shirt in all of it’s glittery glory, and I felt the need to model it. Aaaah…good times. Much simpler times and I did not know then what was in store for me down the road.**UMM….Jametta, Klim, Shannon, Lisa….if any of you guys are reading this….who is in the background standing on the arm of the couch, and why?  lol

Anyhow, let’s get to business.  Even though this sweatshirt is a goof (as is the person wearing it!), I am grateful for having clothes.

Today I am grateful for my clothes.

Maybe “my clothes” isn’t the right way to say it. Maybe just “clothes” in general is better.

My clothes are nothing special, but they are mine. I never wake up without something to wear, unlike so many in our world.

Me & Burgs again! (I guess you’re my fashion friend, Burgies!) Styling it up and going lame (that’s supposed to read like luh-may…not LAME! How the hell do you find one of those damn accent thingies?) . “Luh-may” was the hot style that year…1987. Senior prom.

On days like today where I’m not feeling so well, my favorite sweatpants and t-shirt bring me a familiar comfort and I feel a little bit hugged by them.

On some days, maybe I need a little confidence boost, so I will dress up a little bit and my clothes make me feel 10 feet tall and like a rock star.

At the end of a long day, is there anything better than putting on your pj’s/sweatpants? For me there’s not!

Certain clothes bring back great memories like a concert t-shirt or finding a tiny sock from when my babies were babies.

But even minus the comfort, memories, confidence boost, or whatever…it doesn’t change the most important fact which is that I am lucky to have clothes.

And although my clothes are nothing special, it is not lost on me that many people would kill to have them. Even just a silly pair of cheap sweatpants.
