NaNoWriMo 2017!!! It's here!
I’ve GOT to light a fire underneath me and get this book done! (well….at least ONE of them!) I go through spurts and work on it and then I don’t and I’ve been caught up in that whole merry-go-round for the past few months.
Why? Because it’s important to me for a lot of reasons. I want to get my story down on paper (or digitally) so it can help others who may need it. With the trainwreck that I was, I think it’s safe to say that anyone can get better if I’m able to do it (at least emotionally, they can.)
I also want to get my story down before I forget it! I don’t know if I’m really losing my memory forever or if it’s coming and going based on some medicinal side effects, but there have definitely been some pretty concerning instances recently where my memory has been atrocious. I think it would be a shame if my story were to get “lost in the sauce,” so to speak.
NOBODY KNOWS IT ALL EXCEPT…..ME.
So when I first heard about November being National Novel Writing Month or what’s widely known as NaNoWriMo, I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me to put the pedal to the medal and do this thing!
What NaNoWriMo is is a program where people from all over the world voluntarily sign up and commit to writing a first draft of a novel in one month-50,000 words in 30 days which translates to 1,667 words a day.
Believe you me, that’s a LOT of words!!!!
And then my friend Annie said she had done it before and that she wanted to do it too! PERFECT!!! An accountability buddy!!!
So as I embark on this NaNoWriMo, I would like to ask for everyone’s support and understanding. I’m going to need to back off of some of my other responsibilities for the month so that I can do this….for me. I want this very badly.
For all of my other comrades embarking on NaNoWriMo, and especially you Annie Ehrhart, GOOD LUCK! We’ve got this!!!!
