‘Black Ducks’ are something we talk about a lot in my group “Attitude of Gratitude with Chronic Pain” and something I learned from Dr. Bruce Singer when I was a patient of his at Silver Hill Hospital in their chronic pain program.
The gist of it is ‘black ducks’ are those times in your life where you actually forget about your pain…even just briefly. Maybe you don’t think there are times you forget…but there are. Try it!
- your fave song comes on the radio
- laughing with a friend
- watching a favorite tv show
- partaking in your favorite hobby
- ICE CREAM!!!!
Before I brutalize the theory, I’ll let you hear it from the man himself.
